nothing comes up....cept no operating system found....it a computer that i inherited from my first partner who sadly passed away.....i found out that the children too* it without my *nowledge to see if they could get information they were legally told to return it to me....but they must have somehow connected the computer to their system and gained access to it the day i got into it....then deleted files pertaining to the will.....i then too* it to a professional gee* to see if they could access See more

duh :( he came highly recommended but i dont thin* he deleted it...i thin* the family still had control of my computer and when they realized someone other than me was trying to resolve the issue at hand....they deleted it.....but its all guess wor* now...

It's very rare not to be able to restore and recover. If you don't know how to do this you made need to take it to a different Geek Squad or other techie place. They can use a boot disk like EaseUs or Partition Drive to boot the computer and then reinstall... depending... on the operating system being the same as you had. Probably not. If they had it professionally deleted then it's probably a case where a business will not discuss their business with another client. They may have also been authorized to do it legally by a lawyer. First look inside the computer to even see if the hard drive is there!

the guy who was to figure it out was not a business owner just a smart IT professional......the computer is mine...left to me in my former partners will...all his personal effects...no one disputed that part.....the family as i stated too* the computer ...its not worth the effort to explain....i must just pissed....

Most computers that you buy from a dealer have a second sector on the drive, usually drive d: that contains the operation system so if you lose it on drive c: you can recover it once again. If your geek dude couldn’t recover it, it means either he’s older than 5 years old or someone blew the partition and formatted the entire drive

Indeed, but I don't think he knows how to do this! Probably why he's asking for help, lol. Or he could open the computer and physically rest assure.. Either it's there or it's not. Either way.. I agree that he may not have the knowledge to open CMOS, but if it’s a laptop that can be a challenge as well to the non techie individual

its my own fault for not noing who to trust....his death played heavily on me but then revenge came down harder finding out that his children that i too* care of in earlier years would betray me as well.....money is all they ever wanted...i just wanted closure....but couldnt at the time....

now all i want to no....is if they deleted the operating system....if so i can rightfully sue them....if nothing else i can finally put closure on it....

You should look for someone that has an IQ that’s higher than a carrot to sort it all out. Otherwise, you’re just F**Ked. As much as we all would like to help you here, that would be an impossible task. As far as proving the person who pushed the delete button , you would have a better chance of proving who’s banging your neighbor

always the optimistic one if i merely as* a question didnt as° for anyone on here to sort the problem but i do no that many members here are very technical and could have guided me. so from this point further. i will no longer seeK any computer advice.....on a subject that you already surmised i have no idea on them. As to my chances of proving who is banging my neighbor, that i already no. :)

its not what you conveyed to me its how you conveyed it....i am the first one to fully state i am completely illiterate on the subject of computers and technical issues...thus i enlisted the group here to at least guide me on what i should do at this point.

I just was cut loose from 6 mos. of PT for sciatica and attendant nerve short circuiting. Hurt like hell at first but as I improved the pain diminished. Me, college ballplayers, octogenarians, post-surgery patients. Great crew. Great music. (This has been an unpaid testimonial.)
