They have honey or nectar in their bellies. I had some frames that had comb and some honey on it so they will build up the frames so next year I can get honey from those bees

Is the honey more delicious and fresh than once it's jarred and sold in stores?

If you see in front of the honey jar that says 100% honey and you look at the back of the bottle and it says it has corn syrup and other junk. There is more of that then honey. Some stores will sell organic raw honey in hars is better. Farm markets can be a good place to go or fairs or does markets. I take my honey out of the hive and cut the wax off the honey and extract it and it goes right in the jar. I can sell honey comb in a jar if Some one wants that too.

What does that mean you caught a swarm of bees in your pine tree? Did you do something with them in this hive pictured?

I grab a wooden box and shook the branch above the box and all the bees went in the box and if the queen is in the box the bees will stay. That's a swarm

Interesting article. Last summer I overseeded my yard - it acquired hornets and yellowjackets [I think} underground. I think I got rid of them naturally by placing soil on about 40 circles in the yard.

I hope they are not still underground or decide to return.

I cut my lawn by hand with hand scissors all summer long last summer.

Its a great article and kinda gross about eating a bug! The article is misleading because we can get different bees from different parts of the world. We can purchase a poisonous PIT VIPER overseas and have it in our mailbox.

Yellowjackets will bury their nests in the yard. The only way to get rid of them is to wait until after dark and pour gasoline in the hole...

It usually takes me a few hours to cut a couple of acres with a power mower! I couldn't imagine trying to cut a entire acre with hand scissors.

I covered the circles [I don't know what to call them] with soil and sand, which seems to have worked. So far no sign of them this season.

I had yellow jackets behind one of my bee hives in the ground couple years ago and I torch them and last year I had some by my side garage door in the cement block that holds the house in place. My dad and I put some rags in the hole and the ones that came back couldn't get back in. rd

There has been some bugs I would like to try to eat but I still don't know yet lol
