Interests

InterestsI am a big fan of diners, hanging out at one and chatting intellectually for a few hours over coffee about life.I love food in general, but after 7 years in Miami, I've learned to appreciate decent quality, reasonably priced AMERICAN food served without pissitude and an overhyped atmosphere...and diners are about the last bastian of that food. I'm also into live theater, which sadly isn't much into me. I support it, it turns its nose to me...oh well.
MusicNon-electronic, old fashioned MUSIC...with singers who actually took sometime to learn how to sing, and/or master an actual musical instrument, as opposed to pushing buttons and banging on electronic parts. Big band, swing, traditional jazz and torch, Broadway, and an occasional jaunt into something unique. Personal faves are the Manhattan Transfer, Janis Siegel, Cheryl Bentyne, Diana Krall, Ann Hampton Callaway and Liz Callaway, Harry Connick, Jr.,Tony Bennett,Lambert-Hendricks-and-Ross,Brian Setzer,Big Bad VooDoo Daddy,Squirrel Nut ZippersAtomic Fireballs, and many, many more...but probably not many that you've heard of.

MoviesWAY too many to list...but top two are 'Singing In The Rain' and 'Amelie'.
TelevisionOther than General Hospital, which I've watched since I was born (basically), there isn't one thing on 'television' that I care to subject myself to. I'm tired of the propaganda from the right wing dumbing down young minds (AND older ones too!), and I'm FERVENTLY sick of commercials slamming me with every piece of mindless shit that I don't need...that NO ONE needs.

UPDATE: I've started watching a few TV series on DVD (the only way I can watch, without commercials, repeats, and in ORDER) 'Huff' on Showtime was BRILLIANT and cancelled after only two seasons. 'Slings and Arrows' from Canada was BRILLIANT and cancelled after three seasons. 'Six Feet Under' is interesting too.

And...Nurse Jackie is amazing!
