137 days sober after my OD. I cut someone very special to me out of my life because I thought self destructing with him was saving him. I had to get clean so I could live. He died tonight. I know this isn't the place for this nor should I post any feelings because it doesn't feel real but I would just like to say that there has to be a better way than abandoning people and that I was never equipped to deal. Phones off. Going to see if I can sleep.

Jeebus, man. You have my compassion and sympathy. Just remember that letting go is something you have to do. There can be easier or "better" paths, but sometimes you just have to let go and sometimes people just cant be helped. Its a fucked up world for sure :(
